New Blog Format Coming
Posted April 27th, 2007 - Category: Website Updates
In the very near future, we will be designing a new blog format to complement the design the rest of Rochester Crime is adopting. Please forgive the style inconsistencies in the meantime, it is something we are striving to perfect.
In the meantime, there has been some great progress made in getting Rochester Crime up and running. I have consulted some experts in the field of web design, and have gotten some valuable feedback on the website layout, and I would like anyone looking at the website, especially in these first few weeks, to give me some feedback on how the site looks and performs. You can write me at feedback (@) rochestercrime.org.

Very soon we will be implementing our “Search For Crimes Near Your Address”, and will post that announcement when it is available.

RochesterCrime.org now has in its database crime incidents from all the way back to January 1, 2006 up to April 15, 2007.

Rochester’s Home for Crime Information
Posted April 20th, 2007 - Category: Website Updates
Welcome to RochesterCrime.org.
This website is dedicated to providing Rochester residents a new view at crime activity in our city by having up-to-date information geographically mapped and statistics generated based on whatever YOU want to see. You can search for crime information based on:
- The type of crime you are interested in (eg. The most recent assaults that have happened.
- A date range, and optionally a quadrant or police district to focus the map and report on (eg. View crime information for Wed Mar 28, 2007 through Tue Apr 3, 2007 for NW Rochester).
- Coming Soon — You will be able to search and find any crimes that have happened within a certain block radius of an address that you specify! (eg. Lookup all crimes that happened within 6 blocks of 1200 5TH AVE NE Rochester).
We are very excited to bring you this information, and hope that you will find it a useful tool in understanding what is happening in your neighborhood, help promote awareness and safety, help with crime prevention, and help make Rochester the best place to live!
